Green Kitchen Remodel

We downsized from 2,400 sq. ft. to 670, and our new house had a really old kitchen separated from the living room by a wall. Mark removed the load-bearing wall and put in a header to open up the space. He then crafted some built-in cabinets with slide-out shelves. He opened up the wall and placed them beautifully. He also installed our new cabinets, placing them exactly where they needed to be. Precision was important in all of the project, since the space was so small. He also took out our back wall, replacing a rotted window and door with a new sliding patio door.

Quote & Timeline

The full project was to be completed all during a weeklong stretch, but the cabinets were delayed by several months, and the sliding door by nearly a year. He took it all in stride and did not make us wait once everything was delivered.

Quality of Work

All the pieces and work he did for us was exceptional. He took great care to keep a clean environment, work around unexpected "old house" issues, and was kind when we changed the scope of work at a moment's notice. He also worked easily with our chosen contractors, which was very much appreciated.

Original Quote

For each phase of the project, Mark provided a timeline and work estimate. And for each phase he was spot on in both areas. When we gulped on a couple of occasions, we were offered options to help our dream fit our budget. He was great to work with.

Recommend

We're selfishly hesitant to recommend him, as we'd like him to always be available for whatever our next project is. Still, we can't imagine a better carpenter to have working on a home project. He never seems rushed, always is concerned about doing good work, and sees a project's big picture in a very helpful way.
